CONFUSED?
In the past 5 years more new Photo Booth companies started then in the previous 25 years. WHY?...because some photo booths got smaller and a market selling cheaper portablephoto booths was created to people for side a business. The result is more photo booth companies with unreliable photo booths, inexperienced staff, cheap props, no photoshop skills for designing impressive photo templates for your prints, etc.... Don't gamble your once in a lifetime event on a couples part time side business. Cocktail Hour Entertainment does this full time and it's the only thing we do!
Every company claims to be an expert, so who do you believe?
Lets start with the basic definition of a Photo Booth. A Photo Booth is an automated vending machine with a built in camera & film (paper/ink) that takes your photo and prints it. These vending machines do not use a real photographer. If there is a person taking the photos then it is NOT a Photo Booth.
Many companies make up their own definitions and dont seem to understand they are offering a photography service with onsite or instant prints, not a Photo Booth.


THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF PHOTO BOOTHS
Classic and Open Air

1. Classic Photo Booths are larger photo booths with a built-in bench or stool and a small privacy curtain. This type of photo booth has been around the longest. All components, such as the Camera, Printer, Monitor, Lights, Speakers, and Backdrop are built into the Photo Booth. You usually find these types of Photo Booths at shopping malls, theme parks, and Family Entertainment Centers (FECs).
2. "Open Air" or "Kiosk" Photo Booths are stand alone Photo Booths that look like a kiosk with a touch screen and a camera. These Photo Booths are physically smaller in size, but they do not have a built in backdrop or privacy curtain so they may require more set up space. They can be set up against a wall like an arcade machine or in front of a curtain or backdrop. These Photo Booths are the most popular for social events b/c they are smaller, more mobile, and you can fit larger groups of people in the photos. The latest trends have the photo booths getting smaller and some use an ipad.
   If you want more privacy you can set up your Open Air Photo Booth inside a large privacy enclosure. An enclosure is any type of structure with walls and a doorway so guests can go inside to use the Photo Booth. Some companies call these "enclosed Photo Booths", but technically they're the same open air Photo Booth except they're being set up inside a separate enclosure instead of setting them up in front of a curtain.

HOW MANY ATTENDANTS DO YOU NEED?
Photo Booths are automated vending machines that are designed to be easy to use so they can be left unattended in shopping malls and theme parks. All your guests have to do is push the start button and follow the on-screen directions. So what's the attendants job? 1. Encourage guests to use the Photo Booth. 2. Assist guests with the on-screen instructions (grandparents and small children). 3. Offer props & party signs for your guests to us and make sure they return the props for the next guests. 4. Encourage your guests to print an extra copy and place it in the included scrapbook and write a personal message. The attendant can help with placing the photo in the scrapbook, but your guests should write the personal message, not the attendant. The attendant also changes the paper/ink and keeps the area clean. One Attendant is adequate to handle this job, but we can provide 2 if requested. Some people don't like having a 2nd attendant b/c the attendants may hang out with each other more than your guests!

Our custom backdrops are printed with your artwork on stretch fabric. Our stretch fabric backdrops provide a clean,
professional look with no wrinkles! Most companies use vinyl backdrops that hang from a pole which doesnt remove the
wrinkles and often looks sloppy. Vinyl backdrops can also cause a white spot to appear in all of your photos which is a
reflection from the camera's flash when it bounces off the vinyl backdrop. If you are using a vinyl backdrop make sure it

Projector and Screen Rentals


Rent one of our video screens to play your photo montage, music videos, zoom session, or even live simulcast your dance floor. You can also rent our video screens to use with our game rentals and photo booths. We do delivery, set up, and strike 7 days a week.

We use the same professional screens and projectors used at hotels, only we charge less! We use 120" rear projection screens coated with a reflective material to increase brightness. Our video projectors are 4000+ ANSI lumen which means they are very bright and can be used in both dark or lit rooms. We set up our video screens using rear projection so the projector is hidden behind the screen for a more professional look with no messy cables or guests walking in front of the screen making shadows.

Our projectors are "short throw" so we only need a throw distance of 2-3' behind the screen to fill up a 10' screen. A standard projector requires 15-20' of throw distance which means you'd need more set up space. Using a short throw projector is better because it requires little space and doesn't compromise video quality or brightness.
Our screen rentals include a dress kit for a more professional look. A dress kit is the black curtains used on the bottom, sides, and top of the screen.

This video clip shows 8 simultaneously photos with a black background on a video screen set up behind the DJ. The number of images, background color, and your logo can be customized. Every time a new photo is taken it will replace the oldest photo. When your guests see a great or funny photo on screen it motivates them to take another photo and show it off to everyone at your party!
